Mississippi Mondays: Bikes and Beaches

One of our favorite activities is biking to the beach.  Usually it is just Meagan, Kiersten and I but last week the whole family, plus one of Chris's friends, rode out bikes to the beach.  It is one of the advantages of having a beach a 2 mile bike ride away.

Meagan loves the beach.  Here she is examining the small shells and anythings else she can find in the sand.  When she has thoroughly examined one little pile of sand she carefully scoops some more sand aside to see what else she can find.

And here is Kiersten trying to figure out what Meg is doing and why it is so fun.   She only tries this activity for a couple of minutes and then goes back to picking up sand and watching it trickle through her fingers and playing in the water or in holes her older siblings have dug.

All of the kids love this see view thing we bought in Okinawa.  It is this ridiculous looking mask that helps you look under the water.  Simple but fun.  To the left you can see Kate modeling it, and Meg playing in the sand while wearing her floatie.

Hey what's Meg doing over there?
Why is Meagan running so far away?  Is she rolling her floatie.  No it looks likes the breeze caught it and is rolling it away from her.  She's almost got it.

She dives but misses, looks up and is trying to figure out what to do now.  She gets up and keeps going.

Reinforcements join the cause.  From our vantage it still looks like a lost cause until the floatie hits the hill and starts to wobble and lose speed.  Meg never stops running unless you count the dive and reconnaissance update.
Moments later.

A few hours later everyone is still having a good time.

In this picture you can see how far you can go out and the water still be shallow.

Hours later it is almost time to go home, but everyone is still having fun.

Here is the whole crew with our bikes lined up ready to start for home.
